The Redlands Terms of Use

Effective date: 7 November 2026

These terms apply when you use The Redlands, a free guide to Redland City, Queensland. By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The app is run by Luis Otavio Susko, ("we" or "us"). Contact: support@theredlands.app

1. Your rights under Australian law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't be excluded. Every other clause must be read with that in mind.

2. What the app is

The Redlands helps you find local places, businesses, events, community support, work opportunities and everyday information, such as weather, tides, fuel prices and bin days. You don't need an account.

The app is for general information only. We don't sell, book, arrange or provide any of the things listed, and we don't act for you or contact anyone for you. It isn't professional, legal, medical, financial, navigation, maritime or safety advice.

The app is free. We may change or stop any feature.

3. Not an emergency service

In an emergency, call 000.

The app isn't an emergency or warning service. Fire notices come from a Queensland Fire Department feed and can be delayed or incomplete. Storms, floods, power and water are not monitored in the app, so we link to official sources instead. If the app shows no notice, that doesn't mean it's safe. Follow official warnings and the advice of emergency services.

4. Check before you rely on it

Information comes from many sources and can be out of date, incomplete or wrong. We take care, but we don't guarantee that it is accurate, complete, current or available.

In particular:

• Opening hours, prices, events and services can change. Confirm with the business or organiser.
• Fuel prices may differ from the price at the pump.
• Tides are predictions and aren't for navigation.
• Bin days come from the Council's calendar provider. Check the official calendar if a date looks wrong.
• Map positions and directions may be inaccurate and don't show that a place is open, accessible or safe to reach. Check signs and official advice before you travel.
• A missing result doesn't mean something doesn't exist.

5. Koa, the AI assistant

Koa uses artificial intelligence from OpenAI to answer questions. Koa can be wrong. It can misunderstand you, state things confidently that aren't true, or give outdated details.

• Check anything important with the business, organisation or an official source.
• Don't use Koa for emergencies or as a substitute for professional advice.
• Businesses Koa finds on the web are labelled as not checked by The Redlands. We don't recommend or vouch for them.
• Koa can't book, pay or contact anyone.
• Don't include private details in your questions. See the Privacy Policy for what's sent to OpenAI.
• Koa has daily limits. Past them, the app answers from its listings.

6. Listings and third parties

A listing isn't a recommendation, endorsement, licence check or guarantee of quality. Unless a listing clearly says otherwise, the business or organisation listed hasn't joined, paid for or approved its listing, and isn't connected with us.

Your dealings with a business, organiser, employer or other website are between you and them. Links open services we don't control, and those services have their own terms.

Some images in the app are illustrations created with AI. They may not show the actual place, business, work or current conditions.

Correct or remove a listing: use the link on the listing, or email support@theredlands.app. See the Privacy Policy for how we handle these requests.

7. Using the app fairly

Please don't:

• copy, scrape or extract data from the app in bulk, or republish it
• try to overload, bypass limits on, or break into the app or Koa
• use the app or Koa for anything unlawful or to harm others
• use Koa to try to get other people's private information

We may block access that breaks these rules.

8. Fuel data

Fuel information is for your personal viewing. You must not republish it, distribute it, use it for direct marketing or use it in breach of privacy laws. The Queensland Government doesn't endorse, sponsor or have any connection with this app.

Notice required by the State of Queensland:

Based on or contains data provided by the State of Queensland (Department of Energy and Climate) 2026. In consideration of the State permitting use of this data you acknowledge and agree that the State gives no warranty in relation to the data (including accuracy, reliability, completeness, currency or suitability) and accepts no liability (including without limitation, liability in negligence) for any loss, damage or costs (including consequential damage) relating to any use of the data. Data must not be used for direct marketing or be used in breach of the privacy laws.

9. Who owns what

We own the app's design, name, text and original content. You can use the app for your own personal purposes. Third-party data, trade marks and business names belong to their owners. Their use doesn't mean those owners are connected with us. Source credits are in Section 12.

10. Liability

Subject to clause 1:

• we aren't liable for loss or damage caused by relying on information in the app that came from a third party or from Koa, or by your dealings with a business or other third party
• to the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss

These limits don't apply to the extent that the loss was caused by our negligence and the law doesn't allow us to limit that liability, or to any liability that can't lawfully be limited.

11. Changes, and ending use

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and tell you in the app if a change is significant. If you keep using the app after that, the new terms apply. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it.

Apple. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and we submit to the courts of Queensland and the courts that hear appeals from them. This doesn't remove any right you have to use other courts or a consumer tribunal under the law.

Some features depend on what's available in your area and version of the app. Where the app shows information from these sources, it's credited here.

Foursquare notice

The Redlands selected Overture Places records for Redland City, kept only some fields (name, phone, address, website and category), checked some details against business websites, and may have corrected or removed records.
